What Is Love? adalah extended play (EP) kelima oleh kumpulan gadis Korea Selatan, Twice . EP ini dikeluarkan pada 9 April 2018 oleh JYP Entertainment dan diedarkan oleh Iriver . Ini termasuk single utama dengan nama yang sama yang dihasilkan oleh Park Jin-young. Anggota Twice Jeongyeon, Chaeyoung, dan Jihyo turut mengambil bahagian dalam menulis lirik untuk dua lagu di EP.

Latar belakang dan pelancaran
suntingPada 26 Februari 2018, JYP Entertainment mengesahkan bahawa Twice merancang untuk mengeluarkan album Korea baru pada bulan April.[1] Pada 25 Mac, agensi itu mengumumkan bahawa Twice akan mengeluarkan EP kelima mereka yang berjudul What Is Love? pada 9 April.[2] Teaser gambar kumpulan pertama dimuat naik dalam talian pada keesokan harinya.[3]
EP dikeluarkan sebagai muat turun digital di pelbagai laman muzik pada 9 April sementara album fizikal dikeluarkan pada hari berikutnya.[4][5] "Stuck", yang pada mulanya merupakan lagu "CD-sahaja" pada album fizikal, dilancarkan secara digital pada 30 April.[6]
Pertunjukan komersial
suntingDi Korea Selatan, album ini debut di nombor 2 di Chart Album Gaon sementara lagu judulnya berada di atas Chart Digital Gaon.[7] EP dan lagu judulnya masing-masing memasuki carta Billboard Album Dunia dan Lagu Digital Dunia masing-masing di nombor 3.[8] What Is Love? juga merupakan album pertama Twice yang masuk dalam carta Billboard Album Bebas yang berada di kedudukan 13.
Album ini dijual 335,235 salinan pada bulan pertama dan menjadikan kumpulan menjadi artis wanita pertama — dan akting kelima — untuk memperoleh sijil Platinum dari Korea Music Content Association, dengan penjualan lebih dari 250,000 salinan album.[9][10]
